Available Positions

Research Scientist

Intact Genomics is a leading biotech company in large DNA fragment cloning and metagenomic technologies. We are seeking a highly motivated, ambitious entrepreneurial research scientist working on protein/enzyme expression, purification, chemical analysis, structure, function relationships associated with the production of metabolites, including chemical compound identification and biochemical pathway analysis; as well as gene identification and protein engineering. The successful candidate will potentially lead a new division at Intact Genomics to accelerate the discovery of novel technologies and new natural products.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and execute complex experiments in enzymology and protein engineering, including protein/enzyme expression, identification, isolation, purification, design and construction of protein diversity libraries, directed evolution, and screening to characterize the purified proteins and enzymes, or natural products.
  • Develop commercial products and services.
  • Write experimental protocols, summary reports, analytical methods, SOPs. Implement, monitor and evaluate appropriate quality control program.
  • Participate in and lead grant writing. Contribute to the company’s intellectual property portfolio, scientific presentations, and publications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Enzymology or Molecular Biology related field with a minimum of 2 years of extensive post-doctoral experience in protein purification, enzyme optimization, biochemistry, protein engineering, enzymology, molecular biology, structural prediction, and or synthetic biology.
  • Superior prior experiences and a proved track record through publications or patents is a plus.
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience with grant writing is highly desirable.
  • Familiar with GMP and GLP, ISO 9001 and other quality control methodology. Must be able to review laboratory records to ascertain compliance with applicable specifications, methods, and SOPs.
  • Ability to work independently as a team leader as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivation, adaptability, strong people and project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership and multi-tasking project management skills.

Research Assistant

We are seeking full-time research assistants. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting with laboratory duties and performing routine tasks with direction from managers.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow recipes and protocols, prepare and maintain media and buffers
  • Assist scientists with basic molecular biology experiments and collection of data
  • Maintain orderly lab environment, assist in general lab maintenance and cleaning
  • Work with the sales team to prepare packing and shipping, gather leads through online research
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 year of college education in biotechnology or biology related areas. 1 to 3 years of work experience in molecular biology research or industry area is preferred, but not required
  • Attention to details and ability to meet deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated, ability to work independently and within a diverse team environment
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Territory Sales Representatives

Intact Genomics is a leading provider of high-quality life science products and large DNA fragment cloning related services. All our products are developed, manufactured and shipped from our state of the art laboratories in St, Louis, Missouri.

Intact Genomics is looking for Chicago, Illinois / Iowa City, Iowa / West Lafayette, Indiana based sales representatives to help develop the offerings to research universities, biotech and biopharma companies in these areas. Prospective candidates should be collaborative, entrepreneurial spirited, highly motivated, analytical, creative, and strategic.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell Intact Genomics’ products and services to scientists, researchers and decision makers at research institutions, Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies in assigned territory.
  • Utilize emails, cold calls, face-to-face meetings, digital marketing and other tools for effective communication.
  • Identify organizations and individuals online to establish new leads.
  • Generate new customer base, establish new accounts, prepare quotes, obtain orders and build strong customer relationships in assigned territory.
  • Keep current with new products/technologies manufactured & distributed by Intact Genomics.
  • Make presentations of company products and services to potential clients.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events that are relevant for business growth.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to create and adapt optimal sales strategy.
  • Monitor and report sales activities weekly to the Sales Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Marketing or equivalent education is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of research or sales experience, biotech/biopharma experience, or knowledge of the Biotech and pharmaceutical research community in assigned territory is a plus.
  • Excellent computer literacy needed, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and digital marketing skills.
  • Strong English verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of employees and customers in a professional manner.
  • Well-developed presentation skills. Excellent follow-up skills are required.
  • Self-motivated and work independently.

Digital Marketing Intern

Intact Genomics is seeking a part time Digital Marketing Intern to join our innovative, dynamic team and assist the sales team in their efforts to market and sell Molecular Biology related products.  In this position, you will be responsible for assisting the sales team with collecting sales leads along with day-to-day maintenance of Intact Genomics’ digital marketing channels including websites, email campaigns and social media accounts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the sales team to gather leads through online research
  • Help planning creation and updates of digital marketing campaigns including email campaign, website, SEO/SEM, social media and other marketing tools
  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • College student with a 3.0 or above GPA. Pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, business, digital media, journalism or related degree
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with graphic design software is a plus
  • Creative, self-motivated, organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
